The Patriotic Day Dinner is held near Veterans Day in November from 4ish-6:30. It takes place at Farmington High School 20655 Flagstaff Ave, Farmington, MN 55024. What we do for the dinner is hold doors open to let the guests in, we wait tables, we bus the tables, and help guests back to their vehicles if necessary. After the dinner there is a Program where the high school and some guests speak and the band plays and its a whole shibang.
Every year Farmington has a Memorial Day Service where we honor the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Corinthian Cemetery. To start the entire day we go to Rambling River Park to set chairs up for the Farmington High School Band and for the audience. After that is done we go to the Corinthian Cemetery and line up for the march into the cemetery starting at 9:30AM. After the Corinthian Cemetery Memorial Day Service we go back to Rambling River Park for the second service, with this one being more focused to our "Plaque of Honor" to all vets who are from Farmington. This service starts at 11AM. After this service we load the chairs onto the volunteers trucks that brought them to the park and bring them back to the fire station. After all of these services the Farmington VFW welcome the band and the troops who helped to eat hot dogs in the VFW, starting at 1PM.
